Contrary to the myth about motherhood, postpartum adjustment can be very hard for both women, men, and couples. About 80% of women experience postpartum blues, sadness and tearfulness that lasts for several days to 2-3 weeks. Unfortunately, 20% of women who give birth suffer from postpartum depression and anxiety. Hormonal changes, role changes, fatigue and sleep deprivation can impact the onset of depression and anxiety. If you have not been feeling like yourself, you are irritable, tearful, anxious, having troubles bonding with the baby and feel guilty about it, reach for help. You are not alone, you are not to blame, with help you will be well. I provide in-home sessions for new moms.

Going through infertility treatments has a huge impact on marriage often taking a tall on intimacy and closeness. You might feel anxious, guilty, experience loss of control, and deep sense of disappointment. Psychotherapy can help you and partner come closer and embrace the unknown, embracing the uncertainty with courage and mutual support. Learning useful coping skills can help you cope with stress and decrease negative cognitions. Warm, accepting, non-judgmental supporting space where you can express any feelings and emotions will relieve stress and help you accept the fact that parenthood for you may end up looking different than you originally thought. We will explore your family building options and your comfort level with each of them.

Pregnancy Loss is devastating no matter when it happens. There is nothing that can take away the pain of your loss but there is morning and grief that can be done in a supportive environment. Pregnancy termination especially after an infertility treatment is the hardest decision you will make in your life, you do not have to go through it alone.
